Amazing Care Services is an NDIS registered service provider specializing in delivering quality, individualised and flexible support services to people living with a disability. We are currently looking for experienced mental health Support Workers in a casual pool
We believe in providing the highest level of client-focused care and know by valuing our Support Workers we can achieve that together. Support workers play an integral and important role in enabling our client’s access the supports and services they require.
Shifts can be varied determined by our participant’s requests; however, shifts can include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance with activities of daily living, this includes spending quality time in the home, cooking meals, personal care, undertaking household duties and participating in their daily activities as required.
- Escorting clients to appointments
- Documentation and progress note keeping as required
- Provide or assist with personal care needs in the participant’s place of residence or whilst accessing the community.
- This may include hygiene and continence care, physical mobility support, assistance with medication and general health and wellbeing
- Provide or assist with domestic duties including meal preparation, household cleaning, gardening, and household maintenance
- Provide or assist the client to make and attend appointments and social or recreational activities
- Support the client to connect and engage with their social and family network
- Support the client to connect and attend social or community groups of their choice
- Support the client to work towards and achieve their individual goals
- Follow and implement the participant Support/Care Plan that is provided.
- Ensure that reportable incidents are reported to the NDIS Commission in accordance with NDIA guidelines and recorded as per Amazing Care Services’ policy and reported immediately to Senior Support Worker and or Service Coordinator.
- Report any changing client needs to the Senior Support Worker and or Service Coordinator.
- Identify and report any hazards and incidents in the workplace (this includes the participant’s home and other locations in the community where respite is provided) using Amazing Care Services’ Incident Management system.
- Maintain accurate and concise case notes.
- Participate in mandatory company training.
- Participate in quality review systems and commit to the process of continuous improvement activities, auditing surveys and needs analysis.
- Adhere to all Amazing Care Services policy and procedures, specifically Code of Conduct, Work, Health and Safety, Privacy and Confidentiality policy, government legislation and the Aged Care and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Assist participants to develop and monitor their individual support/care plan that is reflective of their needs .
- Implement and monitor Behaviour Management Strategies as per participant’s Behaviour Support Plan and report any unauthorised use of restrictive practice as per NDIS commission guidelines.
- Liaise with participants, their family, carers and stakeholders as required.
- Actively participant in program planning, training sessions and team building conducted by management team.
- Ensure compliance of documentation relating to medication management, behaviour management and incident and hazard reporting.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV in Mental Health OR higher
- Mental health first aid training
- Minimum 2 years experience as mental health Support worker
- Current Criminal History Police Check
- Current DHS Disability Employment Screening Clearance/ NDIS Check
- Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Applicants must have valid working rights
- Access to a smart phone (Apple or Android)
- Current Apply First Aid certificate
- Reasonable amount of availability
- A genuine desire to engage and build meaningful relationships with people living with a disability.
